Manchester Triathlon Club member Jacqui Slack is to compete this Sunday 28th March in the  ITU World Cup race on the Sunshine Coast, Australia.  The race will be Jacqui's toughest challenge to date with many of the World's top triathletes taking part in preparation for the World Series Event in Sydney in two weeks time.

The 43 strong women's elite field includes Brit's Liz Blatchford, Jodie Stimpson, Vanessa Raw and Vicky Holland along with top international athletes including Laura Bennett (USA), Kirsten Sweetland (CAN), Debbie Tanner (NZL), Ricarda Lisk (GER) and Kate Roberts (RSA).  For a full start list visit www.triathlon.org.

The course is known to be challenging due to a rough ocean swim and a considerable hill tackled twice each lap on the bike and run course. With 7 laps on the bike and 4 laps on the run along with a midday start this will make it a tough day.

Jacqui has been competing in ITU European and Premier European Cup races for the past 2 seasons along with racing for TOC Cesson in the competitive French Grand Prix Division 1 to prepare for the step up to World Cup competition. This season will also see Jacqui take on the challenge of Xterra with a number of European races added to her schedule.  This winter she has been given time off from her job with the Fire Service and has been training hard for the 2010 based on the Australia Sunshine Coast in the town of Noosa.  To find out more about Jacqui visit her website: www.jacquislack.com
