Important Changes to the MTC Swim Program

As from Monday 4th January we will be making some changes to the Manchester Triathlon Club swim program. These changes are designed to provide more support for MTC members new to swimming front crawl and those looking to take part in swimming competitions as we are now ASA affiliated.

On a Monday evening we have 2 swim sessions available. Below are details of how the session will be structured:

Location: Moss Side
Time: 19.00-20.00
Coaches: Tracie Gorst, Dean Frost
Description: 2 lanes will be available for triathletes looking to improve their front crawl technique. If you are struggling to complete 200m continuous front crawl or you fell there are serious technical issues with your front crawl stroke then these are the session for you. Fundamental drills will be introduced for each area of the stroke along with basic skills for structured pool swimming. 4 lanes will be available for a structured triathlon swim as delivered at most existing MTC sessions.

Location: Aquatics
Time: 20.00-21.30
Coaches: Dave Quartermain, Jess MacDonald
Description: 4 lanes will be available for a master's swim focusing on mixed stroke swimming, technique development for back, breast, fly and skills for competition swimming (relay changeovers, turns, and starts)

Additional Front Crawl improvement sessions

There will also be sessions for triathletes looking to improve their front crawl as described above on a Wednesday morning (1-2 out of the 3 lanes available depending upon demand) and a Friday evening (2-3 lanes available depending upon demand). We would recommend that all people new to Front Crawl swimming attend these sessions to help improve their stroke.

Thanks
