Changes to Thursday Night Swim - Aquatics

As you may be aware, the boom at Manchester Aquatics Centre has been broken for some time.  The club are in constant contact with the centre, and the situation is out of our control.

CURRENT THURSDAY NIGHT SESSIONS ARE SHORT COURSE FOR THE FORESEEABLE FUTURE, HOWEVER, WHILST THE UNIVERSITIES ARE OFF WE HAVE SECURED TRAINING IN THE DOWNSTAIRS 50m POOL ON 24 & 31 MARCH FROM 19:30-21:00

We work hard on our relationships with venues, and these rely largely on personal goodwill. The Aquatics have granted us additional space in the 25yd end of the pool, which makes the Thursday night session workable.  Tracie, Lucy and myself have worked hard to get us the extra space, as really we were entitled to the four lanes in the 25m end, and no more.

We are conscious that swimmers prefer 50m training, and we make a 50m session available on a Sunday, 3 weeks out of every 4.  Please consider this when planning your training.

The Advanced squad will continue to train at the 25m end and the Intermediate/Improver squad will swim in the 25 yard lanes.

We appreciate that some swimmers find this inconvenient. Please be assured that we are making the best of a difficult situation.  Intermediate/Improver swimmers are welcome to stay in until 10pm if they would like to. Lucy has worked hard to ensure that the content of the session meets the constraints of the pool length and group level. Most US swim teams train in 25 yard pools and yield great results.

We apologise for any inconvenience and invite you to try other club sessions to complement this situation.

Remember we have the 50m training pool on Thursday 24 march and Thursday 31 March from 19:30-21:00
