Royles is one of the UK’s premier multisport retailers and a proud sponsor of Manchester Triathlon Club. With a comprehensive stock and large selection of premier cycling, running and swimming brands, Royles has fast become the first stop for most triathletes in the UK.
Established in 1979 as a cycling store, Royles relocated to new 5000 sq ft premises in 2000 and began to cater for the emerging triathlon scene. In 2010, due to increasing demand, a new warehouse was opened to accommodate a fast-growing on-line business, followed shortly after by a dedicated running, swimming and triathlon store in January 2011.
The running department in the new store features a wide range of training and racing footwear, clothing and accessories and offers state-of-the-art high definition video gait analysis, whilst the swimming and triathlon department features an Elite Endless Pool, the first of its kind in the UK.
Royles Endless Pool offers customers the opportunity to "try-before-you-buy" on all wetsuits and is also used for 1-1 swim analysis. The pool is available to clubs or coaches for hire.
In addition to the technical facilities available, the new store offers an unrivalled selection of triathlon and swimming products from all leading brands.
Relocating and expanding the running, swimming and triathlon departments provided the opportunity to further expand the cycling department, which now occupies the entirety of the original store offering unquestionably the largest collection of premium bikes and equipment in the North West.
Royles have supported Manchester Triathlon Club’s events since 2008 and are continuing this commitment throughout 2011. In addition, Royles continue to support grass-roots triathlon by partnering with Xtra Mile Events and providing retail, technical support and race support for the 2011 season.
This year also sees a comprehensive event calendar, which includes physiological testing, training seminars, guest speakers, product promotional days and physiotherapy screening.
Knowledgeable, friendly and enthusiastic staff are present at both stores and advice is available to anyone, regardless of ability. Many of Royles staff actively compete in multiple disciplines at various levels; amongst them are a 2:20 marathon runner (Ben Fish) and a two time Kona finisher (Nick Thomas).
