We have a team of Physiotherapists, all bringing a wealth of experience to athlete matters. Profiles of just a few are below:

Paul Savage qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist in 1998. He competes regularly to a high level Triathlon and Aquathlons including Ironman. He is particularly skilled in bike biomechanical assessment and set up related to injury, (see bike fit leaflet) his competitive triathlon experience being invaluable in discovering the cause of your injuries and working with you to integrate your rehabilitation back into your training. Paul is a member of the Acupuncture Association of Physiotherapists.

Duncan Mason the Clinic Director has over 20 years’ experience as a Chartered Physiotherapist and is a lecturer in Physiotherapy at Salford University and works as Physiotherapist with the Great Britain Athletics Team including at the holding camps for London 2012.

His expertise lies in the field of movement dysfunction, particularly in the field of running injuries. He is a former athlete (65 mins for half marathon and 2:21 marathon).

Richie Barber qualified as a Physiotherapist in 2006, he now specialises in shoulder injuries. A former Paralympic silver-medallist at swimming, he has good understanding of the demands of your sport.

Victoria O’Donnell is a Chartered Physiotherapist and SMA level 4 qualified Sports Masseuse. She also works at the English Institute of Sport working with Swimmers and Cyclists. She is also an athlete competing for Trafford AC.

Athlete Core Stability Class

7.00pm- 8.00pm on Wednesdays at Worsley Physio Clinic. Cost £5

Core Stability will enhance performance and help with injury prevention. The class helps to prevent and rehabilitate from injury. Benefits include: more resistance to injury, improved reported economy and power output on the bike, and more efficient stroke and control in the water. The class has been devised from research findings and is at the cutting edge of motor control retraining, we have been invited to speak internationally on this subject.
