Bike Maintenance
Looking to learn all the underpinning knowledge you need to ride on the open road? This could be to take part in a race, train on your own or take part in one of our Sunday group rides. Each year (Oct-Sept) we run 4 basic bike maintenance workshops each year that will teach you everything you need to know. Each workshop lasts 3 hours with plenty of opportunity to ask your burning questions.

The following topics will be covered to provide people with the basic knowledge to make club rides and individuals training rides fun and hassle free:
- Bike, Helmet & Clothing Checks - Recommended to be done before every ride
- Essential tools, Kit and nutrition - What to take with you when you ride and why
- Bike cleaning & lubricating tips - The best way to avoid problems and save yourself money!
- Roadside repair - What to do if things go wrong! Including puncture repair, break adjustment, headset adjustment, putting the chain back on, the proper way to remove and replace a wheel and if we have time repairing a chain and basic gear indexing issues

What do you need to bring: Ideally bring along your bike and anything you would take on a road ride. For more information about suggested kit see the group ride page. However if you prefer you can just come along without any kit and watch (although it's much better to learn by doing.
What do you need to wear: Ideally come along wearing what you would wear for a group road ride, that way we can offer advice on clothing suitability. However if you don't have anything suitable for riding then just come along in comfortable clothes.
Cost: Like any other club session it will be free for gold members and one training voucher for bronze. Please bring along your membership card.
