Bike (Skills)

- The venue will vary between: Wythenshawe Park Athletics Track and other traffic free venues in the South Manchester area
- Coach: Neil O'Brien and Andy Chalmers
We want to help you to ride you bike properly! The aim of the sessions are to help members gain the technique and confidence to train and race on their bike. Techniques will be taught in a safe, traffic free environment under the supervision of a qualified coach and will include:
- Position Setup
- Basic and Intermediate Cycling Techniques such as braking, cornering, balance & coordination.
- Taking part in a group training ride on the road
- Individual & Team Time Trialling
- Bunch Racing
- Some transition work will be done too.
At the end of each skills session there will be a short group ride to get in some training and practice some of what has been learnt.
Cost
- Gold Members: Free
- Bronze Members: 1 x training voucher
What do you need to bring
- Bike - in working order with 2 functioning brakes
- Helmet
- 1 x 750ml drink (as a minimum)
- Suitable shoes and clothes to cycle in
- Spares you would take on a road ride: inner tube/s, pump, tire levers
What will be provided
- 1 coach who will also provide first aid cover
- Coaching Kit Bag: Cones, markers, crates, chalk, limbo poles and whatever else is need to run the session
