Man Tri Run Sessions
- Mondays 7-8PM Track training
- Wednesdays 6:30-8PM Track training.
- Saturdays 10-11PM (Summer only) - Brick session (Turbo and run) - Longford Park Stadium.
- Saturday afternoons (Winter only) - Off Road runs and hill sessions.
Track training
Track training is at Longford Park Stadium (situated off Ryebank Road in Stretford). Wednesdays at 6.30-8.00pm, coached by Nick Thomas. There is also a new Monday track session starting on 14th January coached by Tim Johns at 7PM.
The sessions are primarily aimed at people racing over distances of 5-10km and are periodised to allow people to peak during the summer race season.
During the off season the emphasis is on technique, efficiency and stride rate while laying down a firm aerobic base. Volume and intensity gradually increase in the new year with various phases concentrating on threshold, above threshold and overspeed running. Running and rest times vary accordingly.
The summer months are designed to maintain speed with reduced volume to allow maximum effort in races.
Progress is measured with regular 5km time trials and individual training paces are then determined from these time trial results. People who regularly attend this session steadily improve throughout the year.

Off road run
Regular off road and hill running sessions will be provided throughout the winter. These will be at different venues - keep an eye on the website and forum for details. Ths session are designed for everyone, regardless of ability and is free to attend. They are designed to be hilly overload sessions, building strength and endurance, and improving joint stability and proprioception.
