Qualifications
Reasons for Starting Coaching
- To help other athletes achieve their goals by sharing my knowledge of training and competing in triathlons and running events over the past 20 years. Also as a career progression from being a Physiotherapist who works a lot with triathletes and runners.
Reasons for Starting Triathlon
- Had ambitions of being an Olympic swimmer but didn't grow beyond 5'6". My mum was doing Triathlons, so at the age of 14 I started training for triathlons alongside my swim training.
Most embarrassing / worst moment in a race
- Bonking severely on the run in my first Olympic Distance Tri, age 17. I exited the water well placed with Rich Allen and Glenn Cook but forgot to drink on the bike!
Best moment in a race
- Crossing the line in first place at the Rivington Triathlon in 2008. The last 5k of the run had been very stressful as I had been sent the wrong way and had to re-take the lead during the run and the urge to keep checking behind me during the final 1k was horrible.
