Wilmslow Sprint Triathlon - 13th May 2007.

150 Triathletes took part in this new event, based at Wilmslow Leisure Centre. A 400m pool swim was followed by a 25 km bike, the course taking competitors out towards Ashley and near Tatton Park. After this, competitors faced a 6.8km run on quiet local roads – with a couple of unexpected undulations for runners who had not seen the course beforehand!
A great result for MTC as they took the team award, with all three counting members Chris Standage, Rob Bell and Rob Wilby all finishing in the top 5.
Chris Standidge was first club member home in 2nd place overall, and second in his age group, unlucky to come up against overall winner Paul Hawkins of Planet-X.
Other strong performances from Rob Bell who won the M35 category, Rob Wilby who won the M30 category, Peter White who won the M45 category, Vicki Wade who won the F35 cat and Clare Welch who won the F40 cat. Andy Norman was first novice, recording the fastest run split of the day.
