BTA Youth Selection Trek Dorney Triathlon, 25th June 2006.

It was a perfect day for a triathlon at Dorney Lake - Eton, in fact it was so warm that it was to be my first non-wetsuit swim. As the race kicked off I felt great in the swim having a good start and working my way up the field (Dave Q's sessions must be paying off!) I exited the swim a little behind the lead pack but having a slick transition certainly paid off and I caught up to them in the first half of the bike. I stayed there for the two fast flat laps of the bike until finally coming onto the run where after another perfect transition I was in 5th place. After my good swim and bike, the run was a little disappointing as I got a stitch so ended up slowing a bit but I still managed to keep going and finish in 8th place out of 31 athletes.
