With the increasing number of multisport races now available to enter, it can become a problem prioritising events. Consequently, MTC members are often spread over numerous events throughout the country, and a competitive team spirit can often be lacking. With this in mind, I'm offering the suggestion that MTC members target the 2010 North West British Triathlon Series.

Just a quick explanation for the cancellation of the Monday evening swim session at Moss Side 19.00-20.00 on Mon 9th November. There was a power failure at the centre that lead to half of the pool water draining away. The whole centre was closed meaning that our session was cancelled. Unfortunately they didn't let me know in enough time to tell members not to go along. Moss Side managed to fix things in time for the Tuesday AM session.
THE SESSION WILL THEREFORE BE ON AS NORMAL THIS COMING WEEK SO GET DOWN THERE AND DO SOME SWIMMING.

The new S&C circuit and Turbo Session at Moss Side on a Tuesday evening (20.00-21.15) is proving popular which is great. However due to the size of the room we will have to put a cap on numbers at 30 on a first come first served basis. If we start getting more than 30 turning up I will look at the possibility of a larger room.

With the nights getting darker then why not keep up your cycling fitness indoors at one of the clubs turbo training sessions. The friday evening session at Stretford began last month. From Tuesday 3rd November we will start the session at Moss Side from 20.00-21.15 in the DANCE STUDIO (not the Missile Hall as in previous years) and will be coached by Andy Fardon.
In addition we will also be running a circuit based Strength & Conditioning Session alongside the turbo again in the DANCE STUDIO. Experienced coach and personal trainer Nick Thomas will be leading the session that will focus on strength endurance, injury prevention, posture, flexibility and balance.
As with all MTC sessions these will continue as long as there is demand so don't delay, get involved today...... (well from next Tuesday!).

Please can all members attempt to turn up on time for sessions. This is a particular problem at the Saturday morning swim session. Clearly there are times when this isn't possible to get to a session on time due to work commitment but this should be the case on a Saturday morning. If members arrive after 10 minutes into the session the coach is entitled to refuse entry.

A big thanks to MTC member Richard Symons for giving up his time to fix the broken lane ropes at Moss Side Leisure Centre. He did this off his own back due to the lack of any progress by Moss Side and in 4 hours sorted what the centre staff haven't been able to do in 8 weeks!
Could all members please take EXTRA CARE when swimming at Moss Side and avoid leaning on the lane ropes, not even if you're totally exhausted at the end of one of Karen's sets, not event for a second. Thanks in advance.
