Another MTC bike session at the velodrome - Sun 30th Sept

Postby Andy F » Thu Sep 06, 2007 4:40 pm

As there has been such a huge interest in giving the velodrome a go, I have provisionally booked another session on Sunday 30th September from 3 - 5pm. The session is open to all abilities and fitness levels!

The approximate costs assuming we get 30 people will be:

£8 if you have a suitable track bike and cycling shoes with standard Look cleats (not Keo)
£17 if you just need a bike
£20 if you need a bike and cycling shoes

The velodrome bikes can be adapted to use toe straps, so you can ride in trainers if you want to save yourself £3. You will also need to bring your cycling helmet.

If you would like to come along, please reply to this thread with:

Your full name
Do need to hire a bike? If so what size (length of seat tube) preferably in inches.
Do you want to hire shoes? If so what size.

All the best
Andy

Hi,

can you pop me down please Andy. Will update other details later. I'm assuming pedal type doesn't matter for hire bikes, i.e. I have Look Delta cleats, so assuming they wil be ok?

Cheers

Does this mean that there's going to be no Fardon-Chalmers rematch at Warwickshire then? Never had you down as a 'quit while you're ahead' kinda guy Andy!
Can anyone remember where I parked my car?

Simple...Warwick in the morning...Velodrome in the afternoon. It's all good fun you know!!!

As for the re-match, i don't know if AC has entered.

I have it from the horse's mouth that he has!

I'm looking forward to comparing our swim times to see just how much i've improved whilst injury has kept me from running and cycling.

Are you planning on doing any breaststroke this time?

Well if the performance you put up in lane 2 tonight is anything to go by, I think I'd be able to do it all breaststroke and give you a run for your money!!!

An hour of nothing but kick wasn't exactly my favourite session ever!

Was planning on using full stroke in the race so don't get too cocky

YOUR CLUB NEEDS YOU (and your friends/family)!!!

As it turns out these sessions are like gold dust, but sadly we only have seven members signed up so far. If we can't boost numbers up to around 25 it gets a bit expensive and the likelihood is that I will have to cancel it.

So if you or any of your friends or family fancy coming down and giving it a go please sign up now. There is no set level of fitness or experience required, you just need to be able to ride a bike!

All the best
