Postby khouston001 on Fri Jul 30, 2010 3:44 pm

Hi all

Can anybody tell me the quickest and safest way to dry a wetsuit?

Thanks

Stick it in the washing machine inside out on a spin cycle; I never go over 600rpm with mine and have had no issues at all.
Then hang it up somewhere warm (still inside out) - outside is best, but ideally out of the sun.
Some folks do tumble dry them on low, but I've never been in that much of a rush to dry mine and would prefer it to last!
I hope this isn't because you don't want to put it on wet!!

The greatest danger for most of us is not that our aim is too high and we miss it, but that it is too low and we reach it.

dont like the sound of tumble drier or spinning. I just hang mine inside out in the bath and let it drain.
Record the sound of your washing machine onto a tape, then confuse
neighbours by playing it back on a battery operated cassette player
during a powercut.

I don't know the best way but avoid my end of season trick of leaving it rolled up unwashed and undried in the corner of the garage for six months. Next season it smelt like something had died in it.

wouldnt put it in the washing machine or drier, too much heat involved I bet it could ruin the glue on the seams or something.

Just put it on a coat hanger and hang it up in the shower or over the bath and let it dry naturally, usually only takes a day to dry fully. Why do you need to dry it quickly out of interest?

Why would you want to dry a wet suit
I'd agree with Dan...

This is what I do, too.

I would not put a wetsuit in a washing machine, especially a tri wetsuit which are a lot more delicate than the old canoeing ones.....
