Introduction
We are delighted to announce that The British Aquathlon Championships will take place at the tried and tested Salford Quays Water Sports Centre on the evening of Saturday 17th July.
Located adjacent to the internationally recognised Salford Quays ITU world cup and Commonwealth Games triathlon course, it's an ideal location to hold this prestigious event. Salford Quays has played host to regular aquathlon events over the years and its two lap swim and fast run course, always proves popular with those that take part.
If you plan on making a weekend of it, the former docks have been completely redeveloped and the area is now a pleasant part of Greater Manchester with plenty to see and do. There is a wealth of world-class entertainment, leisure and cultural facilities on offer including The Lowry, Imperial War Museum North and The Lowry Outlet Mall.
To be eligible to win a British Triathlon Age Group Title or to win a British Triathlon medal an individual must be a member of a Home Nations Association (Triathlon England, Welsh Triathlon, Triathlon Scotland) and hold a valid race licence which must be presented at registration, or, either be a legal resident of the United Kingdom or a Citizen of the United Kingdom.
Individuals who do not meet both of the above criteria may participate in a British Championships, but are not eligible to win British Triathlon titles or medals. Events for age groups A - C will also take place however these are not British Championship races and medals will not be awarded.
